My Family Law and Divorce Practice
I work closely with individuals at all stages of a divorce or family law matter, from the initial filing of documents through post-judgment motions for enforcement or modification of existing court orders.
I handle all matters related to divorce, including:
- Child custody and visitation. I will help you establish and put in place agreements that are in the best interests of your children. I will also work to ensure that you retain a meaningful role in the growth and development of your children.
- Child support. I will review all proposed child support agreements for compliance with New York guidelines and to make certain that all appropriate income is included in the calculation.
- Spousal support or alimony. I will help you determine whether alimony is warranted and, if so, how much should be paid and for how long. I will carefully review all the factors considered by the court when deciding to grant alimony, including the length of marriage, age and health of the parties, earning capacity and other factors.
- Division of marital property. I will help you work out an agreement to equitably divide the debts and assets of your marriage, including real and personal property, investments and bank accounts, retirement funds and business assets.
I also help negotiate and prepare prenuptial agreements or separation agreements for individuals who are not ready to divorce or who simply prefer a legal separation.
I provide comprehensive counsel on issues related to adoptions, including stepparent adoptions, private and agency adoptions, domestic and foreign adoptions.
